In loved

This year I am in loved with this ...

Yesterday we got visit from our very good friends who we don’t see very often, but we are always connected … And some things said on this visit just fettered my mind and they just don’t go away… They could be such a relief in those self doubt moments. These words came from a guy who was in computer business for a long time and he was kind of pioneer and co-founder of a very big computer firm in Slovenia.

... this ...

Yes, the fields of our work and interest couldn’t be more different, but the philosophy he exposed is universal: »You should be in loved with your work, you know. You should be able to sit down, look at your drawings and paintings and be mighty proud of yourself and also in loved with your work, but not just for a moment,« he said persuasive and pointed one picture on our shelve: »You know if I would paint this I would be in loved with myself and be very content with this particularly work for a couple of days. I would feel like I am really someone and that I have a TALENT. I did and feel the same thing about my computer programs and this was really the only right way. This is the only way you will succeed! The people will fell in love with your work if you will be in loved the most.«

... these ...

This was really BING BANG BONG in my face and mind. I realized I hide this love for my work frequently behind »oh, so expected« modesty. Everybody knows this: Oh, it’s just something I painted, did, put on paper/canvas … Well – I will stop doing this and feel in loved most of the time … And I really wish this to happen to every creative soul. Consider this as early Christmas wish ;).

... and this ... (and a lot more ;))

Love your work too. They’re so beautiful.

I only just realized that my Google Reader has been missing your posts. I wonder why it’s not telling me updates from your blog. Anyway, I’ll remember to check.
