Monsters named Whatif

Daddys scary monsters.

Daddy's scary monsters.

I guess everybody has monsters named Whatif in his mind. What if I am not good enough, what if I won’t succeed, what if everything will go wrong, what if I won’t any money from my art, what if, what if, what if …I don’t know why are we so programmed to care about the things that haven’t even happened jet. We are paying attention to unexisting things! What a waste of energy … Does anybody have the answer why we do that?

My mind is really contaminated with Whatif monsters. And sometimes I am so overtired just because of thinking.

And mommys ridiculous one ...

And mommys ridiculous one ...

We draw the scary monsters the other day (my son is really in to monsters and dinosaurs right now). When we finished our drawing he looked at my picture and said: “Daddy’s monsters are really scary, mommy, yours is just ridiculous.”

Thanks, pal. If mommy only knew that …

Your little one is right on! There are no monsters for artists- we are our own monsters! I just finished reading the War of Art and he gives it to you straight. The battles we are fighting are all in our heads. We are creative souls that should listen to the whispers and ideas in our heads. Your stuff is wonderful and unique. Believe in it and great things will come!
